sam uho is the latest work from Chapel Hill, NC based musician and organizer Shaun Sandor's promute project. Within are four tracks of still, almost stationary drones. We find promute in an atypically light state - he's traded in darkness and density to finely craft tones from synths, homemade electronics and field recordings. Still present are dissonant synthesizer crackles & repetitive percussion, so by no means has Sandor lost his edge. The work here is puzzling and engaging.  Digital |
